Privacy, explained for families

What happens when a child explores GizmoBox, and how a grown-up can ask about their information.

Privacy Policy · Updated

A note before playtime

GizmoBox is intended for children under 13, including families in the United States. This page is written for the adults who help them. Reading this policy or letting a child use the site does not, by itself, provide parental consent to collect personal information.

What information is involved?

Browsing and playing connects a device to our servers and, on some pages, external services. Those connections can include an IP address, browser and device details, page addresses, and request times. Online identifiers can be personal information even when a child has not entered a name.

Saving a favorite stores game IDs in the browser's local storage. The site does not require an account to save favorites. A referral link can also save a referral code locally. These saved items can be removed through the browser's site-data settings.

Our game pages may display existing comments, but do not offer a public comment-submission form. The contact page provides email links for adults rather than asking children to enter their name, email address, or a message.

What if a parent contacts us?

When an adult emails us, we receive the sender's address, the message, and any attachments the sender includes. That information is used to address the inquiry. Please send only what is needed to explain the issue.

Do not include a child's full name, birthday, school, home address, photo, or passwords. For a game problem, the page link and a short description are usually a better starting point.

Who else can receive information?

Some games load from external providers in an embedded player. An external player can load automatically after its game page opens. The provider receives the network information needed for that connection and may use its own storage, advertising, or measurement services.

Google AdSense can load on pages with advertisements and receive device or browsing information through cookies or similar identifiers. Where enabled, Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement can receive page visits, device information, online identifiers, and traffic-source information. Analytics can also remember a visit's source in session storage.

Where enabled, Microsoft Clarity can collect clicks, scrolling, and page activity for heatmaps and session replay. These tools can involve persistent identifiers; their use is not the same as collecting only anonymous counts.

These descriptions explain the services present in the site. They are not a claim that every external game or advertising service is suitable for children. A provider's separate policy does not replace our responsibility for information collected through this child-directed site.

How can a parent ask for review or deletion?

A parent or guardian can email contact{@}1st-tap{dot}com to request a review of personal information held about their child, deletion of that information, or an end to further collection or use. Start with a general description of the request; do not send the child's sensitive details or identity documents in the first email.

Any information released or changed must be handled in a way that protects the child. We may need to confirm the requester's parental authority before responding with personal information. The site does not currently provide a self-service parent account or a parental-consent dashboard.

Clearing this site's browser data removes locally saved favorites and referral details. It does not by itself delete information already received by our servers or external services, or prevent new connections when a page is reopened. Browser cookie settings are not a substitute for parental consent where it is required.

Storage, security, and updates

Favorites remain in local storage until removed through the site or browser. Session storage is controlled by the browser's session lifecycle. Email, server records, and external-provider records are separate from browser storage; contact us about the records relevant to your request.

No website can promise complete security. If a child has shared personal information, an adult should contact us so the situation can be reviewed. We may revise this policy as services or practices change; the date above identifies this version.
